This Friday, 7/2/10, is Armed Services Night at the Rochester Honkers
baseball game. Presented by the Canadian Honker and KTTC-TV, Friday’s
game will include free admission to anyone with any type of military or
veteran’s id and a free sets of unique Honkers and Hometown Hero’s trading
cards provided by the Disabled American Veterans. VFW Post 1215 will be
presenting the colors and Les Fields and the Turkey River All-Stars will be
playing a military melody. Local World War II veteran Warren Zimmerman is
scheduled to throw out the first pitch and Fort Hood shooting survivor SSG
Patrick Ziegler and his finance Jessica Hansen will be on-hand to announce
the official start of the game. Gates open at 6:00 and games starts at

On Saturday, 7/31/10, Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch will be hosting a Military Salute Day as part of their Miracles Happens Festival. National recording artist Lee Greenwood, “GOD BLESS THE USA,” has agreed to fly in to speak and perform. Other entertainment will include the 12 member Crevier family who travel all over the US performing a “Spin-tacular” basketball program. Bruce Crevier is actually a 4 time Guinness World Record holder. The program will run from 1:00 to 3:30 PM and includes a free lunch after the program. Bring you chairs and get there early. This program is open to all military personnel and veterans, and their families. Free will offerings will be accepted. Reserved seating can be arranged by calling the Ironwood Springs Office.
